Do you take care of pregnant people?

We do have fertility services here, but we do not provide comprehensive pregnancy care or attend births. If you are a current patient and get pregnant, our care is coordinated with the goal of finding the right provider for you to transfer to, and we do not provide services past the first trimester in these cases.

Do you attend births?

We do not attend births at Metro Area at this time.

What services does your office provide?

We provide comprehensive gynecology, birth control, trans hormone therapy, menopause, menstrual health, sexual health, fertility, STIs, primary care, endometriosis, and kink-positive care via a trauma informed and fat friendly framework. This care is provided to women and trans/gender divergent folx.

Can I be seen at your office as a cis man?

We provide some individual services to cisgender men based on need including: STI testing, PrEP prescriptions, and basic cough/cold/flu visits.

We do not provide comprehensive sexual health care or annual visits for cis men and recommend you seek care with an area Men's health clinic or a primary care provider, since we are experts in the care of those other than cis men.

Can you help me find a provider to attend my birth?

We can only provide this as part of coordinating your care if you are a current patient at this practice.

If you have not yet been seen at this office and are seeking a referral for your pregnancy or birth, we recommend you speak with your current/former primary care or gynecology services provider.

Will my insurance cover my visit?

We accept the following insurances:

  • Carefirst
  • Anthem
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO/PPO plans
  • Aetna HMO/PPO plans
  • Medicare
  • DC MEDICAID (NO Medstar, Amerihealth, or Amerigroup)
  • CIGNA HMO/PPO plans
  • UHC (United Health Care) - all plans

We are scheduled to begin accepting these plans:

  • Tricare (Check before scheduling)
  • Virginia Medicaid (Check before scheduling)
  • Maryland Medicaid (Check before Scheduling)

If you do not have any of these coverages, we can bill your insurance under your out of network benefits (you may have to pay a slightly higher copay amount for out of network services).

What are some things I should know about your office?

We are different in several important ways from a typical office. We are paperless and encourage you to fill everything out online ahead of time, as we don't collect information at the desk when you come in. We encourage you to communicate through the patient portal and self-schedule online so we can truly meet your needs and give you the best care.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

We always try and keep a few options open, and prioritize patients who have been seen at our office before for same day visits. We cannot guarantee availability on the same day but if you contact us we will make every effort to see you that day.

Do you do house calls?

We plan to offer this service in the future.

Can I get a group of friends together for a visit someplace?

We plan to offer this service in the future but do not offer it at this time.
